good luck with that righties!  the little soldiers that march in lock step with republicans really ought to actually read and do some research.

in order to repeal the health care law, republicans would need 67 votes in the senate and 290 votes in the house; in other words, 2/3 in each house.  that would require the r’s to win 113 seats in the house this november which is highly unlikely.  estimates are saying anywhere between 30 and 50 seats could change hands.  26 seats would be needed in the senate which is impossible because only 18 democratic seats are in play and i doubt that 8 democrats would just suddenly change sides.

so basically this is an untruth (to put it kindly).  republicans are lying to their foot soldiers.  constantly screaming ‘repeal and replace’ sounds great to stir the troops up but it’s a blatant falsehood used only to stoke the flames.

i can’t say that i blame republicans though.  i suppose you use what works and shouting ‘repeal and replace’ from every rooftop definitely works.  it’s too bad that people are like sheep and just believe what they are told rather than doing research.  i have been guilty of this myself at times.  during the disputed 2000 election, i had sent my brother a story.  it seemed implausible so he said find a couple of other sources and then get back to me.  i learned a lesson that day and i usually try to find corroboration before i just accept what i’m told.

people…the 2 of you who read this…do your research.  don’t just blindly believe what you’re told.

joe scarborough of msnbc fame has announced on his morning grind that he received much, much worse threats when he was in congress. yesterday, a gentleman on the ed show said that democrats have said much worse, including ed himself.

why, WHY does it ALWAYS have to be qualified. ‘i had it worse!’ ‘you did it too!’ let us take care of what is happening at THAT time. when a democrat throws a brick through a republican headquarters window, you let me know. i’m not saying that it doesn’t or hasn’t happened but democrats aren’t the party arguing to allow MORE guns on the street.

just once, i would like to see a republican come out and say that this is ridiculous and it needs to stop – without, yes, without having to make it “fair” by saying you guys did it too. just condemn what you’re being asked about. if reports of a democratic act of vandalism or threat, then that needs to be condemed without qualifying it with a republican instance.

i do not condone violence or even just violent rhetoric. ever, EVER. when i am angry with a vote that was made by my representatives, i send an email or a letter. i let them know just how their actions have effected me and what it is that i intend to do which is usually (if it’s a democrat) withhold any donation or refuse to speak to other people about them in a rallying sort of way.

so i guess in the end, i’m sick and tired of the fact that there always has to be a fairness qualification. the ‘well you did it too’ mindset. wrong is wrong. just condemn each and every time it happens.
