scrapbooking…

my other passion besides genealogy, is scrapbooking.  i was rather late to the party but a generous gift from my in-laws allowed me to start with the basic tools and i was on my way! of course, i had years to catch up on.  three children, my marriage, my extended family, our vacations and all of it full of memories.

my mom was married in 2006 and it gave me great joy to create a scrapbook for her of that special day.

we were fortunate enough to live overseas for a little over two years and were able to create a ton of memories; all of which i wanted to document.

i’ve also really enjoyed scrapbooking for my family.  last christmas, i made an 8×8 book for my nephew.  my brother had called and asked me to tell my nephew a couple of stories about dad.  it gave me the idea for a book that he could look through when he wondered.  i have no idea if it means anything to him now but maybe someday it will.  i made a larger book for my sister about my dad’s childhood and early life since i seem to be the family scribe.  my sister also has two young children and it’s a joy to scrapbook their little lives occasionally.

i’m hoping to be able to get together with other scrapbookers in my area but for now, i’m really enjoying my work!
