so i’m obviously on a manic cycle this week which is kind of good for crafting, though the hurrier i go, the behinder i get!
i took a tiny break from crocheting today and when to tutus and wall art work.
I started with this sweet little pink and green tutu. it almost matches my cute little rosebud hat. i experimented a bit with this tutu and i’m not happy with the way it came out but who better to try them out on but my soon to arrive granddaughter.
i tried looping the tulle on instead of knotting it. i liked the [ ... ]

i’ve been experimenting with so many cute crocheted hat patterns. i’m loving this! my granddaughter is going to be the best dressed head in the nursery….
since my granddaughter isn’t here yet, i’ve had to find new and interesting ways of displaying the hats i’ve made. it’s tough! nothing is quite right. tonight, michael bear, was wearing the new flower petal hat that i made today. i found this wonderful pattern at little owl creations. it’s called the FLOWER PETAL BONNET. she sells the bonnet pattern, the petal patterns and both together.
i can’t wait to see ailsa in it!

so today i finished four version of birth announcements for my sister. i haven’t heard much of a response so i’m not sure if she likes them but that took away from any major crafting today. i did manage to get another 4 rows done on maisie’s afghan.
yesterday was a 100% wasted day. i’m trying to make wooden signs for my mom but i was unhappy with each variation so that is still in the works.
all in all, a couple of not very productive crafting days…

i’m addicted to stumbleupon. i admit it…totally addicted. so lately i’ve been stumbling the crochet thread and have found tons of cool projects.
in the midst of doing big projects such as afghans or cocoons, i like to take a bit of a break and do something small and quick. it helps to me to feel like i’m accomplishing something and that my crochet isn’t endless. today’s small project was a dice bag. i came across a blog called shala-beads. she mentioned that she loves to crochet but has a hard time finding projects that would appeal to [ ... ]

as i’ve broadcast far and wide, my first grandchild is due around march 7th. it’s a girl and she’ll be named Ailsa Cairenn. i’m so excited that i can barely contain myself! haha
the baby girl is probably going to be one of the most well documented and fashionably dressed little munchkins to be born this year! i have been a crocheting fool and now i’ve made her a newborn tutu.
i was going to wait until she was born but the tulle kept calling to me and now that i’ve finally figured out my sewing machine (my 2011 christmas [ ... ]
