bears fans from birth to death…

as i’ve broadcast far and wide, my first grandchild is due around march 7th.   it’s a girl and she’ll be named Ailsa Cairenn.  i’m so excited that i can barely contain myself!    haha     the baby girl is probably going to be one of the most well documented and fashionably dressed little munchkins to be born this year!  i have been a crocheting fool and now i’ve made her a newborn tutu. i was going to wait until she was born but the tulle kept calling to me and now that i’ve finally figured out my sewing machine (my 2011 christmas [ ... ]

mairead’s pretty in pink…

yesterday, i started mairead’s afghan finally.  when my sister asked her what colors she wanted she said pink, pink and pink.   unfortunately the third color of pink just didn’t look right so i switched it to ivory.  i like the look so far!  i hope mairead likes it as much as i do. little did i know that this wouldn’t be nearly enough.  :( i searched and searched for a pattern that i liked that was a bit different and still girly.  i found this pretty pattern at CAP’s crochet.  it uses a stitch called snapdragon.  it seems like a [ ... ]

niece and nephew afghans…

so i had decided a few weeks back to crochet a baby afghan for someone who was expecting in my building. i didn’t get it done in time so whipped up a quick hat which i thought was adorable. but more on that later… i made this hat which i fell in love with.  the expectant mother, while opening her gifts, said that her mother hates hats and wouldn’t dare put that yellow one on the baby.  of course, being the sensitive girl that i am, i was stricken.  how rude and hurtful!  (this adorable hat was made with a pattern called KISS [ ... ]

a new year and a new day…

i’m a bit late on beginning my new year’s resolution but i will be trying this year to blog every day.  boring or not.  a lot to say or a little.  i really would like to move forward with the blog.  i blog furiously for days and then let it languish.  so here goes…
