good luck with that righties!  the little soldiers that march in lock step with republicans really ought to actually read and do some research.

in order to repeal the health care law, republicans would need 67 votes in the senate and 290 votes in the house; in other words, 2/3 in each house.  that would require the r’s to win 113 seats in the house this november which is highly unlikely.  estimates are saying anywhere between 30 and 50 seats could change hands.  26 seats would be needed in the senate which is impossible because only 18 democratic seats are in play and i doubt that 8 democrats would just suddenly change sides.

so basically this is an untruth (to put it kindly).  republicans are lying to their foot soldiers.  constantly screaming ‘repeal and replace’ sounds great to stir the troops up but it’s a blatant falsehood used only to stoke the flames.

i can’t say that i blame republicans though.  i suppose you use what works and shouting ‘repeal and replace’ from every rooftop definitely works.  it’s too bad that people are like sheep and just believe what they are told rather than doing research.  i have been guilty of this myself at times.  during the disputed 2000 election, i had sent my brother a story.  it seemed implausible so he said find a couple of other sources and then get back to me.  i learned a lesson that day and i usually try to find corroboration before i just accept what i’m told.

people…the 2 of you who read this…do your research.  don’t just blindly believe what you’re told.

i always think i should be surprised but i never am. virginia rep. eric cantor came out yesterday and gave a speech. i guess everyone assumed it would be a denunciation of the threats against lawmakers.   wrong!! his speech was essentially one big lecture to the left.  he’s angry that the left might be benefiting financially from these threat stories and i don’t doubt that they are.  if i were solicited to donate, i would.

over and over and over again this week, i’ve heard that republicans have received threats even worse than anything that’s happened in the last week.  (when asked for details they’re usually not provided.)  they say that during the lead up to the iraq war they received terrible threats.  what they say about these threats is that the right are not whiners so they don’t bring it up.  they ignore it.  they move on.  blah, blah, blah.

you cannot come back 7 years later and suddenly say you guys did it too.  it was wrong if and when it happened and should have been condemned but that’s done and over with.  we’re dealing with the present and what is happening now.

in his speech, cantor said that he had been a victim of violence as well after the health care vote.  he said that his gop office window had been shot at.  after that speech, fox ran with it ALL day long on almost every fox program for the rest of the day.  — come to find out, 1) police believe the shot was random.  that it was fired into the air and just so happened to come down in that building.  2)  cantor does have an office in the building but it is unmarked in anyway to show that it’s cantor’s office and the address for this office is not listed on his website.  3) the bullet did not even hit the window to his office.  it hit a window in another office that just so happened to share the same building. –  so who is whining, pointing fingers erroneously and being an all around jerkwad now?

cantor also said in speech that though he received a threat, he wasn’t going to release the threat nor take questions about it.  he said that doing so would just encourage more violence.  wtf?

foxnews.com finally updated the story to reflect the facts today.  i can’t stomach watching the tv channel so i have no idea if any of the reporters actually corrected the story but if they did i would be surprised since it’s not the way they usually do things.  they usually prefer to drop their lie bombs and then leave them hanging whether refuted or not.

ugh….i cannot stand fox or these do-nothing conservatives.
