busy day..
i tried 3 times to type ‘busy’. it’s such a habit to type ‘busby’ that i automatically hit that second ‘b’ without even thinking. so i guess a more appropriate title would be ‘busy busby day’.
now that we’re back in the US…we’ve been taking care of all of our dental needs. it’s an expensive process but it all had to be done. i needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled among other small things. michael had to have 2 root canals and inlays installed. the boys needed cleanings and coatings. a couple of thousand dollars later..we’re doing pretty well. michael had to have the last of his procedures finished this morning. his teeth look great! the inlays are the same color as his teeth so no more silver mouth!
the dentist was kind enough at my last appointment to sand down the brown discolorations on my two top front teeth and make them match the rest. i can’t remember the last time that i didn’t have those spots. just such a little thing but it makes me so happy.
after the dentist, michael came home to study for his written driving test. that was a surprise to me when i went and i barely passed so he spent a decent amount of time studying. we went to the dmv around 11:45 or so. they said then that the wait time was 1 hour and 46 minutes. we finished up at 3 or so. it was absolutely awful. i told michael that of all the government agencies…this is one that serves almost all segments of the population…at least those over they age of 15. why would it be so understaffed all of the time? there were 18 windows in the laguna hills dmv and out of those, i think that 6 were staffed. ridiculous! what a cliche huh? i understand it can’t be super quick, too many people, but leaving it so that customers end up wasting a whole afternoon, is not acceptable.
this odyssey at the dmv made us late to pick the boys up after school. they’re pretty patient though. there is a little hillside park with trees that’s a nice place to hang out while you’re waiting.
while we were waiting for michael’s number to be called at the dmv, we decided to go for lunch at a chinese place. the food was ok but the service was TERRIBLE! michael didn’t get to eat because it took so long to get the food. he had to leave and go back to the dmv. so, we brought the food home and michael ate his and the boys split mine.
we had the chiropractor at 5:30…we didn’t know that our dr. was gone to a conference so we had another guy. i’m was not happy with his procedure. dr. hamilton is a bit more gentle while cracking the spine. this dr. was much rougher and didn’t give any run up to the adjustment. dr. hamilton at least works the neck a bit before popping it. anyway…i’m a complainer!
thomas couldn’t find any sweats so no mma tonight. i can’t be responsible for dressing a 14 year old too!
anyway…the usual busy busby day…
