well, i have say i’m pretty bummed about the direction the health care reform plan is taking. i know that obama wants to make it a bipartisan deal but why? what good does it do to give voice to a group that is hoping, openly, that you’ll fail? it’s like bringing hitler to the table to figure out how to close concentration camps!
here’s what really pisses me off about the bipartisan issue. for 8 years, 8 YEARS, republicans rammed shit through congress. this was done without much argument by democrats. according to nancy pelosi this was because she was biding her time and doing what she could to ensure that we would win majorities in both the house and the senate and then we could do what needed to be done.
WHAT?!?
ok…i’ll give her the benefit of the doubt on that one. so now you’ve won…what now?
oh…now we’ll compromise on all of our promises. the promises that helped obama win the white house as will as veto proof majorities in congress. i know the cowardly blue dogs are holding things up somewhat. (i find it sick that they call themselves democrats, really.) but i had heard over and over that there is some procedure by which the the democrats could pass legislation on healthcare without needing the normal 60 votes. why are we even bothering at this stage to appease these people who don’t really want health care reform in the first place?
i guess i really don’t understand why democrats talk to big and deliver so small. i’ve chosen the lesser of two evils to root for but i’m really disheartened by the progress or lack thereof.
i would say, though, that when polls show (this morning’s latest) that 57% of people in america are skeptical about the way the health care debate is going, i wish that they would break down the numbers in a more telling way. is that 57% don’t want what’s being offered? or is it a mix of those who want what the democrats promised and conservatives who don’t want reform at all? if find it somewhat dishonest and misleading when you just come out and say 57% are upset with the way it’s going.
i hate that liberals are caving to a group of people who have no interest in helping the middle and lower classes. if they genuinely wanted to help the little people, they would have worked on health care reform during their long 8 year raping of america. they have no interest in it…they are holding their noses right now because they can’t get away from it but you can bet if mccain had won in november, there would be no discussion whatsoever on healthcare. we would still be voting on whether to raise defense spending, cut taxes on the wealthy and business owners and what country has pissed us off lately so that we can declare war.
sick…conservatives are just sick and their supporters are sheep.
