i can’t believe that he’s 12 already! my baby!

when i asked tyler, a few weeks ago, what he wanted to do for his birthday he said his friend ‘a’s birthday was only 3 days before his and he didn’t want to have a competing birthday party so i talked to ‘a’s mom to see if she was open to a joint birthday.  both she and i and tyler and ‘a’ thought it was a great idea!  on saturday, the 25th they had their party which was a movie (race to witch mountain) at branimir and pizza at mezzo mezzo. it turned out really nicely.  i think they all had a great time.

tyler’s actual birthday was on tuesday, the 28th and as is tradition…he had breakfast in bed. (we learned this tradition from a colleague of michael’s in new york and the kids love this one!) this is a great way to start the day off in a special way for the birthday kid.

after school, tyler chose the restaurant he wanted to go to for his birthday dinner. this year’s choice was restoran katedralis.  we ate at this place over a year ago but tyler still remember the interior enough to describe it and it’s location. he had a nice meal that first time so he wanted to try something besides agava this time.

it was a nice evening out. the waiter was awesome and put together a dessert with a flame in a bowl for him to blow out. (the evening was great although someone stole our brand new umbrella from bled…you know who you are and should be ashamed of yourself!!)
